Mercedes Benz Museum & Classic Centre
« on: July 17, 2017, 09:48:57 »
I spend the day yesterday Sunday at the Benz Museum. As is custom every Sunday I believe Oldtimers meet in front of the museum for "Coffee and Cars" I spotted one Pagoda outside and several others inside the Classic Centre and Museum. I'll share them here with you.

Greetings,

Dieter

And four more photos taken inside ...

Those cars can be rented for around 400 Euros/day ... something to think about when we drive our toys :)

 Hello Dieter,
Nice to see some pictures from your trip. We visited the museum a couple of years back and is well worth it for any MB enthusiast. My wife particularly enjoyed the new car show room on the ground floor. :) Hope you are having a great trip.

Hi John,

Thanks, I posted photos mainly on my Facebook page (under Rolf Dieter Solga). To keep my frends and Famaly up to date where I am. I attended the Mosel Tour earlier this month and today I spend half a day today at the AMG Engine Plant in Affalterbach (Near Stuttguart). Tomorrow I will see the Porsche Museum before heading north to Cologne, Berlin then Hamburg and finally to Amsterdam, before heading back home with KLM (spending 3 to 4 days in each city, except for Cologne only 1 day). Some time will be spend with Famaly members, however, most time is devoted to cars, after all I am a car not ~grin~ what can I say.

When I am back home I will post more about the German Pagode Mosel Tour, it was a super great outing and I will attend it again next year. Not too much I can do with my iPad and iPhone I need my home computer to post pictures and some nice videos I took of the Mosel Tour.

Attached is a Photo I plan to make my Screen Saver when I get home (it was just the way those three cars were parked during our second coffee and cake stop in the afternoon, the photo was taken by our host Peter H. [he took it with my iPad, what a super person and host he was] Mine did not turn out as well). I plan to post more photos later once I get back home.

Dieter, happy to hear you are enjoying your European adventure. Thanks for posting the pictures, especially the one today.  Looking forward to your report and pictures on the Mosel Tour.

With that schedule you will be completely worn out when you get back to Canada!  Wishing you a safe continuation and trip home.

Peter,

(Thanks again for everything and put me down on that advance list for next year. Also thanks for shooting this great picture with my iPad, mine did not turn out so good. You not only have a sharp eye for your hotel guests, also for the finer tings in life like the picture you spotted and took. This one will become my screensaver on my main computer).

Gee some stunning cars here !!!

Can't wait for the opportunity to visit.

It feels like you guys there have a little more culture in pagoda life.

In Australia they are few and far between that's why it's so beautiful enjoying the Pagoda meets and being a part of this wonderful club

JC,

Peter H (a member here) Hosts a group of some 25 cars for a number of years now at his hotel in Enkirch, Germany (sometimes 2 groups, this year it was only one group of 24 cars). I think this is his 5th Event. He does a grand job planning the routes and his Hotel is high on my list for great service and hospetallety. I dont think even a 5 star hotel can beat what Peter and his Team put on for the Mosel Tour. First Class is about what I call it. Much planning goes into this no need to mention this, Peter provides each driver with a carefully layer out plan for every tur, lunch stops and afternoon coffee stop. As you know Germany easily fits into one our Provinces, therefore getting a group together is not that difficult (infact if one does not apply early one does not have a chance to go, it is quickly sold out). Some indeviduals from other parts of the world have participated in the past. As said it takes great organizational skills to put on an event like this and Peter h sure knows the ins and outs.

Dieter

PS. The picture with the river is not the Mosel, it is the Rhein, our tour took us first to a famous spot along the Rhein where we enjoyed refreshments and a super lunch. We then went to the other side to the Mosel Valley for our continued tour and afternoon coffee and cake.

Life is all about dreams and accomplishing them.
I have been fairly lucky in the sense of everything that I have aspired to do I have done.
My Pagoda has come into my life at the time where I think it has meant so much to me and at an age where I could associate the right appreciation in ones lifetime.

This is something I would love to be a part of and makes me so excited.
Indeed it has to be planned accordingly.

Send me through some details so I can prepare.

Thanks for sharing your passion hopefully we get to meet on this remarkable journey ahead
