Sunvisor clip (attachment) for early 230SL
« on: May 25, 2016, 23:03:27 »
hello all, during restoration of my 230SL, I asked that they go ahead and install a new pair of original MB sunvisors - price for the sunvisors was staggering....at any rate, the visor clips don't appear to be correct. In the attached photos you can see that the clips aren't mounted flush with the header and it appears as though a spacer or some piece of hardware is missing.  Can someone with an early 230SL please post a picture showing how their visor clips are mounted to the header? thanks in advance, Charles

Hello Charles,

Norm is correct.
The original ones are NLA but unfortunately the only proper way to go. ???

"We" had them reproduced in the group
(well 'we' ... more accurately ... Alfred organized that) a couple of years ago.
The result was a good match but the plastic material the workshop did was not so good.
Still the only way to go.

Ask Alfred whether he still has some or not.
If not try to find original ones. They're unique to the 230SL/250 SL-early - none of the W110/W108 ones fit properly.
None of the aftermarket sellers has the proper ones - very sad.

Good luck !
