New Vinyl Dash- Help!
« on: November 08, 2004, 16:23:50 »
Having removed all the vinyl dash boards for possable repair I've desided to replace w/ new vinyl.  I'll use the old pieces for templates. A) What glue should I use?  B) Any technique ideas, make sure too.. or suggestions?
Thanks,

Jim,

I can't speak of vinyl, but I know a bit about leather.  In order to effect a professional looking job, the leather must be shaved to allow nipping, tucking and folding over.  This is something with some artistry and skill involved.  Vinyl seems to me to pose its own set of problems as you can't shave it like leather.

Go to The Star and look at the many advertisers for specialists in interiors; or make some calls on the islands for reupholsters and see if they can help you.  Will take a little research and some trial and error.
