New members first post !
« on: June 13, 2016, 11:59:37 »
Hello to all.

A few pictures of my new to me 1967 250sl.  I have been looking for a year or so, and this seems to be in very nice condition. I am looking forward to driving the car both in the UK and around Europe.
This looks like a great site for information, and I'm sure I will have plenty of questions to ask over time.

Thanks.

Welcome and your 250SL looks beautiful. I had a 250 before I had to replace it my current 280 (long story) and really liked that car. Have fun and enjoy your "new" car.

Hi Dudlow,
Welcome to the forum.  Looks like a nice clean car and I wish you many miles of happy motoring and lots of fun. You will find lots of helpful info here.
I also have a 'new' 250 SL, which will require a lot more that a little TLC.
I am presently in the UK visiting our new grandson for a few weeks.
Regards

Welcome from France, car looks very nice, I'm jealous of how tidy the engine bay looks. Happy motoring and ask away if you need something.

Thanks for all your kind comments.

Engine work at a standstill at the moment while we await a part from the factory. Hopefully it wont be long now.
As with all elderly cars they need good regular use, and my engine has suffered as a result of under use over the past ten years or so. I did more miles in the first week of ownership (480m) than the car had done in the entire past seven years.
Its fine keeping a car in a carcoon wrapped up in cotton wool, sure keeps them shiny, but use it or loose it as regards the engine.
