While the Classic Mercedes Museum claims that it hosts all vintage models, this one never made it.

Is it because it's so rare?

Should our Pagoda Group start campaigning to have the car restored and placed in the Stuttgart Museum?

The official plan is to show it at the museum starting April 1, 2018.  ;)

The prototype did make it to production in limited numbers. Some body changes were made. Only during the Daimler-Chrysler merger. Bird SH*# marks the location of the optional fender mounted CB radio antenna.

Apparently there was a study made on the same base for the London bus market. Not sure why it did not materialize.

Kind of looks like the south end of a cow going north. What is that thing?

Actually all those models could be shown in the Stuttgart museum as a kind of intermittent exposition: only each 1st April every year :D :D :D
