motor mount bolt question.
« on: October 12, 2016, 19:27:53 »
So my car has 2 different types of bolt for the motor mount to the sub frame attachment.  One is a standard M8 socket head cap screw(Allen head) and the other is a grade 10.9 low socket screw(Allen head).  On my car the 2 normal Allens were on the left and the 2 shallows were on the right.  This seems backwards to me since the mount that is stressed to tension the bolts is the left and should get the stronger bolts.  Any ideas?  I looked at EPC but it only shows the same bolt for all 4 locations.

Yes, they should all be the same. Yours may have gone bad on one side and the captive nuts may have been drilled and tapped to a bigger diameter.
