Euro Headlight Trim Ring Seal
« on: September 27, 2016, 16:47:33 »
I do not have anything between my headlight trim rings and the headlight bucket/body and have been told there should be a seal/gasket between the two.  I am not talking about between the headlight and the body (which I have) but the trim ring and the body.

Can someone post a picture of their seal in place and is it a formed piece of rubber or just a strip of some material you form yourself around the bucket?

Check here http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Electrical/EuropeanLamp#MainComponents and scroll down to the picture with Flat glass head lamp chassis. It is the grey seal going around the frame. You can find it, as example, from http://www.authenticclassics.com/Euro-Headlight-Lens-Gasket-MB-230SL-250SL-280SL-p/auth-002708.htm

Thanks Johan but I think that gasket in the picture is between the glass/lens and the body of the headlight.  It isn't between the trim ring and the headlight bucket, which is what I am looking for.

Thanks Johan, it just confirms my own suspicion that there was no seal/gasket.  I'll have to let the person who said it was missing know that there isn't one.
