Headrests-how to remove ?
« on: November 12, 2004, 09:05:30 »
Trying to fit seatbelt guide which is held in place by the metal rods that support the headrest; does anybody know how to take the headrest off so that I can slde the seatbelt guide on ??
Apologies if this has been asked before but I did a search and couldn't find it.
Thanks

Pull up until they come all the way out.

If they do not come out: Some of the
sticks inside the backrest have points
which have to be pressed to uninstall
the headrest.

Thanks PagodeInfo; indeed I had to take the seat back cover off, loosen the 2 vertical strips that guide the headrest rods and press a release button on one of the strips before the whole headrest would come off; you can't just pull them out all the way.
The seatbelt guide BTW (original part for W107) fits perfectly and what's more does the trick.

Perhaps there's a difference between the US headrest mechanism and the Euro system. I just removed mine last month to have one of my seats re-covered, so I'm quite sure the US models just require a pull. Sorry to steer you wrong, rwaw.
