Hi All

I just had my Aluminium steering wheel polished to a mirror finish.
Should I spray it with Lacquer to stop it fading?
Does it fade away if I don't, or is there a better way of preserving the lustre?

Thanks for any input.

Cheers

I have never found anything that has not dulled the finish.  I have used Toon Bright, Eastwood diamond clear,  Eastwood metal protector, and sharkskin.  All as soon as they went on made the polished aluminum look dull.  I just leave it bare and use mother aluminium polish twice a year and it works great.

Thanks Bob,

I have read this over in a few forums, but I live in Lebanon (Middle East) and do not have this product here.
Is it some sort of good cream polish.
I have access to good products like that here.
And should I apply a coat at this point in time or only when needing to shine it again.

Regards

Besides polishing it leaves a thin wax? polish on it so I do it a couple times a year.  It is especially formulated for polished Aluminum, I am sure there must be some product like it there.
Sorry I cannot be more specific, but from experience I can tell you that if you let is get dull for too long it is a *&%#@ to get that mirror shine back.

LOL, yes for sure it will be.

I understand and do have a good quality Alu polish that I imported from Eastwood.
Just wanted to be sure.

So, I will apply it as of now to help lengthen the shiny period.

Thx a bunch.
