rpm 'wanders'

Hi Kids.
What can be the cause of a wandering idle. The motor has got 25k on a total metric rebuild and the fuel system was recently purged. There is the tiniest drip of oil coming from somewhere in the fuel injection pump (the gasket at the firewall-end of it seems a tiny bit wet), though I have no idea if that is related.

My guess would be something like air/vacuum leak? But I'm not sure. On ocasion it would drop low enough to conk out.

What could be the cause?

Thanks.

For starters, Check CSV for leak-by and check vac line to booster for leaks..

Hello Tom,
Lots of tuning possibilities. Check the points first. Especially the non transistorized ignition cars like your 230SL.
