does anyone know what this part is?
« on: January 11, 2017, 01:16:51 »
In the upper left of the picture there is metal piece that joins the 2 seals  (it looks like a metal "U" )
What is this piece?  does anyone know a part number?
Thanks

I am all set!

Alfred,

As part of this post: https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=17459.msg122366#msg122366

do the barbed (sharp pieces) remove?  I need to send the 2 railings to get chromed.
Also, to avoid losing or damaging the clips, I want to remove them before they get chromed.  I dont want to force them out--are those clips glued in ?  Do you know a good way to take them out?

Regards
Steven

Steven,
yes, both types - the V-shaped ones and the H-shaped ones with 4 barbs - slide out. On the 4-barbed one there is a circular - 2 half moons - depression in the center that fit into a hole in the rail and prevent the clip and therefore the rubber from sliding up or down.
The V-shpaed one have a groove that slides the along rail.
Perhaps a less experienced installer may have used some glue to keep them in place. If that is the case just some solvent and nose pliers to wiggle them loose.
