Tail light connectors
« on: February 09, 2017, 01:36:08 »
Hello all, I am new to the forum and I am hoping that you fine people may be able to help me out. I am rewiring a 1966 230sl and cannot locate the connectors for the tail lights. I did attempt to look through the forum but there is a lot of posts and I couldn't find a search function.  Any help with resources are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for:
http://www.authenticclassics.com/230SL-250SL-280SL-Convertible-113-Chassis-s/1.htm?searching=Y&sort=13&cat=1&show=32&page=1&search=%20connector%20tail%20light

The search function is in the string of items to the right of the "Home" listing just at the top of the screen. It is the fourth item over. This is the main search key, and will search the entire forum. The search at the top right of the page, will only search the forum you are currently browsing. There is a more extensive write up in Pagoda Notes, scroll through the General Discussion sticky

Welcome to the Group!

In addition to using the search functions as mentioned by Jonny, it will also be helpful to read or at least browse through the technical manual as soon as you have the time (Third heading from the left at the top of the screen) so that you have some familiarity with the content.  There is a world of information available.

Wishing you success on your rewiring project.

I suspect that you may be disappointed with the connector in the photo.  My broken 1966 230SL taillight connector was reddish brown bakelite.  The only one I could find new was like the one in the Authentic Classics photo - black plastic.  I had no choice but to buy it and use it.  The design, material and color are different than the original but it works.  I have no source of used parts here in Quebec.  Junkyards here apparently don't have vintage Mercedes cars.
Oh Well!
Good luck.

Is: Dark Blue 332G with Dark Blue Leather (5300, I think)
