Clip between driver side seat rails
« on: April 16, 2017, 11:56:06 »
Appreciate advice on what the clip between the drivers side seat rails is for on my 1970 280SL. The forum suggests perhaps a fire extinguisher attachment but wasn't sure if that is the definitive purpose?  Thanks....John

Is this what you are talking about?  If yes, it's the stop for the driver's seat to keep it from going too far forward or maybe even too far back.  I don't know why.  I never bothered to look to see what part it contacts.  Its part name is the ingenious word, "STOP".

It apparently does work well to trap a homemade extinguisher bracket.
