Found the short cut to removing those chrome vents. Since these vents have most likely been in the dash since coming off the assembly line, so to get to them, I removed the ducting that goes to the vents by taking a pair of needle nose vice grips and back the screw from the top of the dash board to duct, then a drift punch to knock out the screw from the anchor nut without damaging the screw or anchor nut, then remove the duct and you will have clear path to remove the vent. I then used WD40 to lube the post on the vents and then an 8 inch socket extension and a hammer to pop them loose from inside the dash.
