stripping the carpeting and mat out.
« on: August 13, 2017, 15:11:56 »
This is an old 1970 SL and with original interior.  I'm wondering, does the carpet padding have any asbestos in it? I'm having to use a heat gun to loosen up the adhesive to remove it.

Don't know for sure.

I had to use a heat gun to get parts of the carpet off also - very difficult to remove. It was about the only job they trusted me to do during the strip down.

I'm still standing if that helps......and even managed to father a healthy child afterwards  :)

Congratulations on the baby. Last time that I had to do something like this was on board the USS Lexington when I had to use a torch to remove the ugliest green tile rom the steel deck.
