On the passenger side of the G72 4 speed manual transmission is the set screw and lock nut for the reverse idler shaft.  See the photo below (ripped off from George Davis).

My transmission has just been drained and filled with fresh ATF, and it's leaking a few drops per day.

Is there a technique or special sealant used for sealing the reverse idler shaft set screw and lock nut on the side of the transmission?

Thanks, Dan, for the quick and precise reply.  No words wasted and knowledge that inspires confidence.

Whatever was used before certainly didn't work.  As soon as the level got that high, it started leaking.

I certainly put in more than I drained out.  I put in 1.4 liters but had drained out less than a liter.

Since the drain plug is not leaking,  I'll leave it alone and suck some out of the fill hole to get the level low enough to avoid a mess when I put sealer on the set screw and lock nut threads.

I can't find mention of the set screw in Haynes, Chiltons, or the BBB.  The EPC at least shows it.
