If you are removing it to replace a leaking front seal there is a very good chance the leak is where the 'Snout" of the torque converter is rivited to the body of the converter. Lay the converter on it's back, fill the area around the snout with water Not inside the converter) and pressureize the converter with compressed air and a rag. Replaced mine 3 times before I found the leak. Fix is to have it welded around the enge and around the rivits.
