Bud’s short fuel pump
« on: March 12, 2018, 19:51:13 »
In the event I cannot rebuild my long fuel pump and need to replace it, has anyone out there used the new short style pump sold by Bud’s Benz?  He says the pump he sells is noisier than an original Bosch.  Any feedback on the sound issue?

Bob Youngman (baronYoungman) probably knows more about late style fuel pumps than anyone else care to know. He can sell you a rebuilt pump with better components than you will find from aftermarket suppliers. He has researched and discussed his efforts on these forums. If I were in the market for a short late style pump I would go to Bob. Plus he is a neighbor of mine.

That is a $140 holley Blue pump or worse yet a knockoff.  They are LOUD.  A friend had one in a 1966 Dodge Hemi Coronet and you can hear it above a very loud exhaust.  Go with the Carter Joe Alexander recommends the 4601HP..

I bought a rebuilt pump from Bob. It leaked, I contacted him and he IMMEDIATELY sent me a replacement. The replacement has worked flawlessly. He is responsive and provided me with what has proven to be a quality rebuild. Contact him!

I bought a rebuild from Bob Youngman.  Works great and is apparently the best solution vs trying to rebuild the tall one.
