Mercedes Tools Question

So I was lucky to have had a father who was a Mercedes nut and as I have noted before on this forum, I spent many weekends with him working on all manner of Mercedes.  Especially the in-line 4s and 6s.  When he passed away some of his tools landed in my possession.  Based on their offsets, it looks as though they were tools for working on the head/valves and fuel injection.
I was hoping some of you (especially Joe Alexander) could say what they were specifically for.  The offset open end with the 1/2 drive fits around the FI nuts perfectly - so I expect that's what it is for?

The first three digits of any part number usually refer to the first use model or engine number.  In the case of some of the wrenches the first numbers are 621.  this would denote the OM621 Diesel from the 190 Ponton diesel.  Although this is first use the tool may still be used in later models. The next three digits are 589 which is the group for special tools.

The top two are valve adjusting wrenches.  One to hold the adjustment and one to tighten or loosen the locknut.  The bottom wrench may be for the OM621 fuel lines or injectors?

I think the offset one is also for later version valve adjustment. If I remember correctly the FIP line fittings and injector fittings are 17mm, so are the later valve adjusters.

Correct me if I am wrong...

The difficulty I had was to find a spanner (or anything) that fits to hold injector (19mm I think) while you undoing the line fitting on the injector. Maybe some of these spanners or the "diesel" one will fit to do it?

See if the lower on will slip over the injector line and hold the fitting on the pump.  also see if it will fit the injector?

I bought two offset wrenches just like those about 20 years ago for adjusting diesel valves so the same tools are still available. The shorter wrench is for holding the top of the valve spring retainer, which I have, but I found that I never used it.

Yes, the crows foot is the special valve adjustment tool for gasoline engines. 14mm for earlier pagodas etc. or 17mm for the latter pagodas. Also, correct on the rest,they are  diesel valve adjustment tools. These diesel tools worked on most MB vintage and more recent diesel engines. Dan is correct in that the larger diesel wrench (holds top valve spring retainer during adjustment) is seldom used.
