Getting ready to start pulling axels from rear.
« on: May 17, 2018, 17:59:32 »
Is there any overhaul manual that is better then this useless Haynes manual that I got from AutoZone. Also can I pull the right axel housing without destroying the bellows?

Is your axle still installed or is it out of your car?

Yes, certainly. The factory has produced lots of detailed technical literature.
Available for instance here:https://www.mercedes-benz-classic-store.com/en/literature-media/technical-literature/
You need the 1968 Workshop manual (often named BBB here in the Forum; "Service manual starting year of construction 1968, W 108 - 113").  "Book of Tables" (1971) is also much useful.
BTW, the Haynes has lots of confusing and inaccurate information. I suggest you use that book with some caution.

I'd also suggest you do some serious reading up on the task on this site to. There's a ton of great info here from people who've been there before.
