That sucks.  Did you at least stay in the car for the drive home?  Like a country drive but in reverse and zero MPG.

At least it's a relatively easy fix.

No I followed behind and admired the car.

Yes I will be back on the road in a couple of weeks.
All depends how quickly I get the parts

Super easy fix, but jolly bad luck. Change them all whilst you're in there.

Hi Gimp,
Sorry about your misfortune, but admiring the car makes up for the inconvenience.
When I bought my first one in 1977, a white 190 SL, I insisted my wife drive it home in order for me to admire it.
Arguably, the most pleasure I ever had from my 190SLs, Pagodas, 220SE Coupe and SE Cabrio, 911s, E Types, my Piper Cub, Tiger Moth and Super Cub was sitting on my workbench with a cold one, just appreciating them.

Apologies, I nearly forgot about our Steerman. My wife and I ferried her down from Johannesburg to Cape Town(2 days, 11 hours flying and 9 fuel stops). My wife was crazy about this airplane and spent hours sitting reading in her in the hangar, barely peeping over the side at the new kids coming over to appreciated our toys. We often took the youngsters and anyone that cared for a few late afternoon circuits.
Regards
Chris

Hi Roland,
Did not mean to be blasé about it. We are indeed very privileged.
We are two brother and a brother in law, which made it possible for the three of us sharing these wonderfull toys. We had a wonderful hangar at Stellenbosch Airfield for about 13 years. I am the eldest and did the restoration of the two Cubs and the Tiger. After retirement I went back to my first love, classic and vintage cars.
Cheers
Chris
