123 ignition loose hold down clips
« on: September 29, 2018, 17:07:45 »
I have a 123 electronic ignition in my car (68 280 sl).  I find that the hold down clips do not fasten tightly to the cap.  Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this issue and is there a recommended fix.  For the time being I've just put some putty in the area on the cap where the clip fastens.  Not a very elegant fix, however.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Yes, similar issue, I wrote about it some time ago - the spring clips went lose. I bent them back so that they fit. You can do it with your fingers without taking the cap out, which is not good...they are too soft.
