I just “installed” a tire pressure monitoring system and thought I’d share with everyone since it’s pretty cool and is easily removed for “correctness”.
I’m planning to do a 3day ‘rally’ organized by Classic Car Adventures and then I saw this TPMS on Massdrop and it was only $69.99 so I thought I’d give it a try.
It comes with four valve caps and a little display that plugs in the lighter. I ‘installed’ it in the time it takes to swap out the valve caps and plug in the receiver. It immediately recognized the sensors and displayed the pressure in the tires. It can also display tire temperature. If pressures get too low or too high, it will set off an alarm.
I drove around for a bit today and you can see the pressures rise as the tires warm up. Very cool. I’m hugely impressed with it. For long trips, it’s nice to be able to keep an eye on the tire pressures.
Just to be clear, I’m not associated with the manufacturer, supplier, or anything related. Just a cool, useful device at a descent price.
