W11x. Overthinking Ignition Issues & Installing 123ignition

I have a Euro 250SE 1966 - early version from what I have gathered.

I am supposed to have a vacuum advance ignition system w/ Bosch p/n: 0 231 116 047

It appears that somewhere along the line my dizzy was replaced with the vacuum retard setup.

It was imported into the US in the late 70s/early 80s.

Dizzy was replaced by p/o based on service records.

The blue book is throwing me for a loop since what I appear to have installed is incorrect and with newer parts.

My throttle body also appears to be replaced with a vacuum advance throttle body, I have attached pictures.

I purchased and have installed 123ignition 6 R V M  https://123ignitionusa.com/mercedes-6-cylinder-tune-6-r-v-m-programmable-bluetooth-will-not-fit-c-models/

Car will not start and I am not sure as to what the default/base settings should be.

I have included what I currently have it set at based on the the blue book.

For whatever reason I keep getting http 500 errors when uploading attachments, so apologies for the double posting.

Also,

It has (what is testing @ 1.5ohm) black Bosch, with darker orange top coil installed running through a 1.8ohm ballast.

My understanding is to bypass the ballast completely with this setup - correct?

The car should at least start, with or without ballast, or with the incorrect throttle body (advance vs retard) as far as I know. Make sure the ignition timing is correct, and check that you are at least getting spark at the spark plugs. It may be out 180 degrees, not connected just right, or something like that.

I agree with Cees, it should start. The distributor can theoretically only go in one way due to the "off center" drive. My 123 was 180 deg off, relative to my original distributor. I had to relocate the wires in the cap to match that.

You don't need the ballast resistor with 123 ignition.
You should check that you're actually getting a spark by pulling the King lead from the coil, position it a few mm from the coil and observe that a bright blue spark is arcing across the gap. You'll hear it as much as see it.
Then, if the spark is there you know your coil and dizzy are good and you probably have a timing issue.
