Chrome grill adhesive / sealant
« on: October 03, 2018, 00:57:49 »
I removed my chrome grill so I can refinish the black grill behind it.  There was a hard (probably flexible many years ago) substance that appears to be applied similarly as silicone.  Does anyone know what material should be used when reinstalling the chrome grill?

Masking tape was originally used between the chrome grill surround and the painted bodywork.

The masking tape was there ex factory like John mentions and on some more spots in the grille area.
Today we have found "hockey tape" to be a viable alternative (can be found in sports shops)
