Notre Dame saved from total destruction.

This may be of interest, i took these photos about 25 years ago, and
thought ,the size of the timber in the ceiling  would be of interest.
Notice the bigest of the bells is the Emannuel bell 16 tons cast in 1681,
and the solid oak beam holding it for memory is or was about 3 ft x1ft,
even the other beams in ceiling about 12 inches by 8 inches, and the
850 year old steps to the bell tower.  Hope some can be saved.
