NE PA 250 SL
« on: July 09, 2019, 15:00:19 »
> I recently became a member of the Pagoda group and am still learning. Be kind and gentle.
> I’ve owned a 67-68 250SL since 1988 and have used it as a “driver” (as opposed to a show car). Since a ground-up restoration in the ‘80s, it has 12K miles on it. .
> It has recently been moved to the Pocono mountains area of NE Pennsylvania and I no longer have a professional mechanic to look after the old girl’s needs. I am not much at hands on - I’m currently working on replacing the driver’s sideview mirror and having some challenges, viz., the chrome strip at the rear of the door panel that is attached via god-awful pentascrews, most likely metric.
> Any suggestions in the Stroudsburg or Wilkes Barre/Scranton area of a classic car, preferably mercedes, zealot who could help me keep my 50+ year old on the two-lane highways occasionally? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Beautiful Pagoda!  One of my favorite color combos!

Welcome!  Ya, I'm a total noob to these creatures as well, so I've asked plenty of stupid questions.

THankfully, there are lots of people here to help, plus great archives of tech info.  Just wish one can reply to old topics rather then creating new ones.

He is not in the Poconos but Walter's Foreign Car Services in Bethlehem is an experienced shop who knows these cars.

JCNMD, I can’t help with your immediate question about knowledgeable professional care  in your area but hopefully other forum members in your area will chime in soon.

I would like to add my welcome.  Your car looks great and in due course we would love to hear more about it.  Additional pictures are always welcome.

Has your existing side mirror been damaged or is there some other reason for replacement?

If only the glass is broken you can order the glass, plastic trim piece and spring and replace it without removing the mirror from the door.
