Hello,
I'm listing my 1969 280 SL for sale.  The car was restored over a 2 year period by renowned Pagoda specialist Gus Kidonakis at Beverly Hill Motors.  I received the car back from restoration in January 2017.  The car is Anthracite Grey Metallic with a new Cognac Interior. A new brown convertible top was installed during restoration along with a period correct Frigiking AC unit.  Car also comes with matching hard top.  It is a matching numbers car with a 4 speed manual transmission.  The car was originally Tobacco Brown from factory.  The car currently has 94,543 miles. I have only added about 100 miles since restoration. The restoration work done was meticulous and this Pagoda is an excellent example that needs nothing. I have maintenance records dating back to 1992.

Here is a link with Gus discussing his restoration work at his shop.

I’m asking $120,000 USD for the car.  The cost of restoration alone was over $90,000 USD.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for more pictures.  Serious buyers only please.

Thanks,
Mario

It's nice to see a car fully restored, the interior looks really nice.  It's only when you have a go at restoring your own do you realise the costs involved, I could quite imagine it costing me 90k if I had put my car out to an external company.

Good luck with your sale.

This is a gorgeous example of a late-model Pagoda. (Please consider re-orienting the gear lever. It’s pointing the wrong direction.)

Way, way back when:
The first pagoda I ever worked on kept jumping out of gear after I put a new clutch in it. I got so good at taking the gearbox out and stripping it (to replace the detent springs) that I could do it in 45 minutes.
Imagine my embarrassment when the customer pointed out that the gear lever looked different...... :o

I would say that would be the business of the buyer and seller only.
