I started a new thread on this topic for better visibility. The thread initially arose in "A/C Hose Routing". As a result of that post, Alfred provided me with a bracket that he didn't need and others, who also would like to have this type of bracket, have asked for a sketch of the bracket. Photos of the bracket are in that post. I took the bracket and a scale and came up with that sketch as a go-by for someone to fabricate their own bracket. Bear in mind, this is only a go-by based on the bracket in hand. I fully expect that there will be adjustments necessary as you make the bracket. That being said, here is some additional information that I didn't include on the sketch:
- The bracket is steel and appears to be about 1/8 thick (maybe 11 gage, pretty heavy duty)
- Although the bent corners are shown as sharp, they are instead radiused bends, looks like just a straight natural bend.
- I couldn't apply the angular dimensions without grabbing a plug-in and I just didn't have time to do that now. If you hold the bracket with the long side vertical and the next longer leg at the bottom to your right, the angles are approximately as follows:
- The angle between the bottom leg and the long vertical leg is about 80 deg
- The angle between the bottom leg and the shorter leg at the end (with the two slotted holes) looks like 95 deg, just slightly more than perpendicular.
- The shorter leg also has a slight bend in it, outward about 5 deg. (The 9/16" dimension shows the break point for that leg.)
- The angle between the long vertical side and the top leg looks like about 124 deg.
The sketch is attached and if I get the time, I'll try to add the angles there for clarity.
