Back in 1986 when I was living in San Diego (north part; La Jolla Colony) I was headed to Orange County with some friends early one Sunday morning. I was a passenger in my friend's car, and we were doing normal speed in the lane one over from the right. In the right lane, going unusually slow was an older Rolls Royce. As we approached the car I look over, and I see [famous actor] Dudley Moore driving! We made eye contact, and he knew that I knew who he was. At that point, he slunk down in the seat...as if that would somehow "put the genie back in the bottle". At the time, he was living in LA, and also owned a restaurant in Venice. He looked pretty disheveled as I recall, and he may have been heading home after a night of partying in SD.
My one and only celebrity sighting in the one year I was in California...
