Bonnet/Hood Rod

I removed the hood/bonnet to make it easier to work on the engine, but now the Rod does not want to go in its place.  It wants to go to the left!!??  I did not touch the Rod assembly at all.  I just secured in place with a clamp and removed the Hood.   Any suggestions how to resolve this situation??  See attached picture for more details.

Sassan, ill try and explain ,to help you, your photo tells me that when you had your hood out,
the metal spring you must have spun it around about 180 degrees, see how the metal spring on yours is nearly touching
the under side hood,that means you have it tension the wrong way,.
to fix, sorry you have to remove hood  and tension it back  around the direction you show your arrow.
i had mine off about 3 months ago, to paint underside, and like Garry tells you that previous forum from  perry 113 is correct
you can hold the tension with a bolt or s hook to hold in a square edge hole just  about 10inches from spring outlet.
i removed my metal spring altogether and i can tell you ,its easy to remove and replace while out , but i think
with hood on car would be impossible,a couple of photos,but thay may not help,

refitting spring to hood.
