ride height on 280sl
« on: July 10, 2020, 21:06:38 »
I know that this is not a new subject, but after reading most of the old post I am still not sure what to do. My front is sitting about 2-2/12" to high. I did have my subframe bushings replace last year and did noticed a difference. I am measuring about 14.5" from the bottom of the bumper to the ground.
I believe it should be around 12". unfortunately I did not make note of the ride height before the bushing change.
could the subframe bushings cause this much of a difference? the back looks and measures correct. I would appreciate any help I can get on this.
thanks Jim

Hi Jim,
I believe most of the guys measure the ride height from the centre of the wheel caps up to the lip of the fender, which puts us all on the same page and would negate tire sizes, tire pressure, etc.
If I remember correctly, mine is 13.25 inches in front and 13 at the rear. Others will soon chime in.

NB. I have checked my measurements and amended my post above.
