Differential restore question

Hi all,
I am about to restore my differential. Never had any issues with it but want to replace as much a possible.
I understand this is precision work. Can someone share with me bearings etc not to tinker with? I want to avoid having to adjust shims etc.

Replace all of your rubber bushings, seals, axle bearings, and probably the bushings on the hinged shaft. I wouldn't get into the main carrier bearings or pinion bearings unless you have to.

I don't want to be be too invasive. Question, Can I remove the the left side support tube to replace the gasket? I don't want to remove the crown wheel.

There is no gasket. Only sealer is used. Yes the left tube and axle assembly can be removed by itself.

Hello,
One more question on the shaft bearings.
RH has a roller bearing. NieMoller has a part number 000-981-05-06. Is this the right part and is it only available from MB or is there aftermarket FAF/SKF. The FEBI kit looks like it only comes with a ball bearing. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/1113500068.

Go to a bearing supplier and order the number from your old bearing. Everyone does this; even me.

If you don't have one of those wrenches for removing the axle nut, get one. You'll need it and they're not that much to buy.

just as a heads up the axle shafts are 2 different lengths.  make sure the odd (Angular Contact) bearing ends up on the right side shaft.
