Apologies if this has turned up here before, but this popped up on one of the FB 113 groups.  I’m aware of many of the one-off or limited-edition cars, but I’ve never seen this.  Anyone have the background?

Most interesting. I have not seen this before. I tried looking up "JEWUWA" that is listed on the photo, there is a German site jewuwa.de. Looks like they do custom work on Mini and VW bus?? Perhaps one of our German speaking members could shed some light as to whether they are a one standing firm, and did something like the photo.??

On page 101 of my book Pagoda Style, I selected a number of style exercises on the W113 from 1959 through 1963. I'm certain this was not ALL of them, but just a select number provided by Paul Bracq. In almost all cases the front of the car, and the front windscreen was essentially unchanged. All the styling exercises were done with the hard top, and its rear window, it's quarter window, and some slight variations to the slope of the boot/trunk deck.

This custom one off could be a Photoshop job; I've seen some excellent graphic renderings done in excruciatingly high resolution that were nothing more than graphic fabrications. This image presented is kind of grainy and low resolution so might be a "deep fake". More likely it's a custom job.

The rear wings are almost Ponton like, and the rear window is a wrap around. The B pillar is almost nonexistent.

Kind of an interesting treatment...

I saw it on fb. To me it is extremely ugly. A question of taste.

I do not have the background - if I spotted it, I would have avoided it.

It does not look like a rendering to me.  The design strikes me as something Frua could have created.  Rear windows can be angled out - typical for 60s design.  Tires are Goodyear.

It does remind me of the hind of a Renault Floride, which was around at the same time as the Pagoda (mid 60s, https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Floride_et_Caravelle), but the details on the body work are wrong. The silhouette is very similar though.

For a while I was thinking, that it can be the Mercedes 230 SL Pininfarina Coupe, but I checked it and it is not. So I wonder what car in real is it?

It definitely is not the Pininfarina Mercedes. That is actually nice. As I said before, it is a different car with a W113 grille and headlights from a W111, behind the A-pillar something Italian/French ? I like FGN95's thinking of the Renault Floride because of the "French Heckflosse"...

Very different appearance without the pagoda roof. That feature and the rear fender lead me to suspect Italian influence on the design although the rear quarter also reminds one of a TR-5 without the flares. Could do without the chrome side trim.

When I first saw it, the windshield and the edgy rear fender reminded me of a Sunbeam Tiger.

Indeed, this is more convincing than the Floride, if only on account of the rear bumper stopping short of the fender.

Whatever it may be, even a brilliant photoshop construction, it is an ugly duckling (my personal opinion).

I found a couple of pictures of a Tiger with a Hard Top. The front part above the windshield seems different, the side view is almost that.
