W11X glovebox spring
« on: August 21, 2020, 05:44:58 »
Is the spring mechanism on the w111 coupe glovebox on both hinges or just one?
Thanks!

Hi Col,
I used to have a 61 Cabrio and 63 Coupe and if I remember correctly, the glovebox door is the same as the Pagoda. Only one long hinge and only one spring setup on the inboard side of the box. I say ‘inboard’ because my Cabrio was a lefty and the Coupe was a RHD.

There is only one spring on the box door. On my LHD, it is on the lower left corner of the door. Not sure if that changed with RHD. The mechanism is a bit different from the W113 in that there is only one fork and is loaded differently. Fork is #110 689 00 32 and the spring is #110 993 09 01 if you need those. I don't remember if it is a long hinge or two short ones.

I didn't take detailed pictures when I redid my dash. :(
