Replaced wing query
« on: October 15, 2020, 23:46:47 »
Hi
I’m looking to potentially buy a 1st pagoda from a friend of a friend. Little rust but the right wing has been replaced as it was hit in a car park.
Could someone advise what sort of effect having a new wing would have on the price of a car like this? It’s a nice car otherwise and I plan to have someone inspect it but I was just curious to get your thoughts

Thanks

If the front wing was installed properly by a professional body shop I don’t see any problem with it. I had both my front wings replaced - as they had been tarted up with lots of filler by a previous owner  - and the result is near perfect. Some purists might tell you that the original wings were spot welded but even that can be taken care of using a suitable blunt drill bit to make the replacement wing look like a factory fitted one.
