Window heater switches
« on: November 24, 2020, 13:26:57 »
Hi
I understand that the switches in the centre console (see photo) are for heating the read window and possibly front window. Did these switches only appear as a special extra as I rarely see them on 280sls advertised for sale.

There is a discussion about the switch for rear window only on the 1971 Pagoda - the switches you have look like someone fabricated heated seats with the rocker switches and the round handled switch would be for the rear window if a 1971.

Just a guess.

Actually the switches shown are power window switches and someone did a nice job integrating power windows on a Pagoda.

It indeed looks like self added power window switches. It resulted in necessity of moving a switch that probably was there originally to a different location. This location is disputable, I would probably fabricate a longer shelf.

I am not sure why it has to be a 71 US to have a switch for rear window defroster - it was a long available option for these cars. I have a 70 euro with this switch as it was ordered as option.
