Laying carpet

Time to put the carpet down. I've got some sound deadening stuff that I assume I put everywhere I can and I've also got some felt underlay...
Do I cut the felt the same shapes as the mats then glue it down?
Or is there more to it??

one way to do it is to spray one side and edge of the felt, that is cut to the carpet shape, with a sound deadening, then fix the other side with contact cement to your carpet.
That way if water does get into the floor area it stays out of the felt.

So the carpet, felt then sound deadening are all stuck together and not stuck to the car?

Correct, don’t stick it to the vehicle.
The order is, cut felt to shape of carpet pieces.  Note the two seperate pieces on the drivers well floor to allow for it to kink.  Then coat one side and edges with the deadening and then contact cement the un-coated side to the carpet and the whole just fits to the floors. That is how i did mine.  Note the floor has some Dinamat type material already fixed to it.

Under the floor mats, I used a foil faced jute to help with the passenger exhaust heat, then the carpet, lastly topped off with Coco mats. I used zero glue. I glued the sills, plywood package shelves, and rear bulkhead. Did not glue the trans tunnel (Ive already had to take this back out for manual shifter bushings)
