I used a product called Nyalic which is a spray can single part Urethane clear on all my raw Aluminum and plated parts. I wanted to see how effective it is so I removed some screws on the tailgate of my Landrover, replated them in Zinc, chromated them then sprayed the left 2 with Nyalic. As you can see the truck sees a lot of Salt here in Ohio and my wife has custody of the parking stall in the heated garage in the winter so mine stays outside. It should be an interesting test.
