Birthday Drive
« on: February 09, 2021, 22:16:58 »
Today we had an appointment to drop off the DD beemer for service and having a beautiful 65 degree F day I pulled out the 113.

After all, this week marks the 52nd anniversary of delivery at Sindelfingen and a birthday drive was in order.  The odometer rolled over 53800 miles on the outing today, just over 1000 miles a year average.  We took scenic back roads returning home and thoroughly enjoyed the drive.  Only about 35 miles but always a pleasure. This year I need to work on increasing my annual average!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful SL Ralph. It is amazing how these cars don't age. Too bad we can't say the same for the owners. We had ours for a short hop this weekend too as it was also in the mid 60s. We did not drive our car much this past year but have promised ourselves (and the car) to get it out on the road more often. Got our 1st shot yesterday and I feel optimistic this will be a better year for sure.

Ralph,

Your Pagoda looks amazing!  Congrats on keeping it so pristine over so many years and two continents.   Glad to read that you and Mrs F Neely got her out.

Thanks for the kind comments, gentlemen.

What a difference a week makes in the weather here.  Snow in the morning with 15 degrees F.  High of 30 today.  Unfortunately not Pagoda driving weather.

I’m not sure what I am more jealous about; the pictures, the mileage or the 65 degree weather!  Spent an hour this morning removing the foot of snow from my driveway.

In New Hampshire - we love snow.

A long straight handle Garant plastic pusher is our snow friend. Easy on the back.

I too am very jealous.  We've had more snow this winter than we have had in quite a few years, most of it coming in one dump.

My snow pusher.  Very easy on the back.
