Pagoda in A Book for Children In the 60ies?
« on: February 27, 2021, 09:36:53 »
I have just found it on fb this morning. The author says it is from a book for children from the 60ies.

Anybody could provide a context perhaps? I do not understand the plot on the picture, the TAXI plate is misleading... the lady says "Get in , please!", but she is reading there, the dog is there... I do not know what is going on. Who is this guy there? :) :) :)

I think the guy says "Einsteigen bitte!". He is inviting the girl for a ride. Why it is a Taxi, I don't know. It seems to be a "Taxi" advertisement. There is another Taxi tag in the left upper.

Thank you! I thought the lady is saying that. That is how the graphics suggested it to me...

Anyway - it looks very suspicious...

Hello Pawel,
you actually nailed it when you typed the topic title: Book for children IN the 60ies. Aren't you guys in your 60ies and still children playing with toys?  ;D 🤣

Hi,
this book comes from the publishing company "Bilderbuchverlag Otto Moravec" (see lower left corner) in Vienna which was founded in 1951 and closed end of last year 2020, specialized on children picture books (https://www.moravec.at).
It is interesting that the company founder invented the ring binding for children's books.
This book was probably available in different versions and motifs

Thank you!

I would need to translate the texts, but looks like it is about travel adventures or something along these lines.

Nice context to place a Pagoda, even though not relevant for a taxi...
