You should join the group - it will give you access to the Tech Manual, where it is beautifully described

It's not a simple matter of me just telling you - there are detailed instructions, with photos for the procedure in the Tech Manual. I'm planning on doing mine soon.

I'll tell you what I remember.

1.  Remove the knob by pulling UP.  Don't twist.  It will probably be difficult.
2.  There will be 3 or 4 screws holding in the shift gate.  Remove those (look under the carpet).
3.  The illumination will be clipped (or screwed?)  to the inside of the shift gate.  You need to remove that.
4.  Lift off the shift gate.  There will be folded over tabs holding down the plastic insert.  Carefully unfold those, replace the plastic insert.

And just to note, Stevenagonzales is a member of our group, just not a what's called 'full' (= paying) member which unfortunately means less access to important (and freely contributed) information.

Who happens to live around the corner from me? Would love to see your Pagoda some time!
