Hi Folks,

Here's an odd one...my 230SL fuel gauge will reliably go crazy and then fail after about 30 minutes of driving.  Very repeatable.  It then returns to normal after the car is shut off.  It's a new gauge, but I realize that means nothing.  Very funny.

Ideas?

Thanks!  Allen

I don’t have any idea about the fuel gauge issue you describe , but I have to tell you your car is absolutely gorgeous!

I suspect from the ground post at the trunk.

They feed the ground needed to operate the fuel gauge and fuel pump.

Doble check those connections integrity. It is next to the wheel arch from inside the trunk. Clean, polish, etc.
