I’m sorry but I just don’t get this one.  Trying to make a classic look cool with the modern black-out style just looks odd to me. Of course maybe I am just the odd one.

Nope -  I don't like the blanked out chrome either.   Maybe I'm just from the wrong generation - we painted bumpers black when they were rusted out.  Some grinding and welding and a bit of bondo hid the rust but those chrome bumpers were still ugly.

I understand there may be various levels of excitement about this kind of engine in W113. Looks like a professional job done. But the black chrome parts are a disgrace to me. Looks like a black paint budget renovation done in a hurry and took away all the charm from this lovely car...
