So. I will start from beginning. I have a pagoda 280sl from 1968. The car was rebuild. Engine, gearbox is runing perfectly. My car have a automatic trans with torque converter. The only problem is with the noise from converter sometimes(especialy when I start run and when I run uphill). I have two 50 Years torques converters. One is on the car. One is on the movie on the left side. I decided to rebuild one torque converter( left on the movie). But when I received this converter from machinist I saw that when I turn this thing inside by hand it turns hard. It is converter made from steel. I have Mercedes 220 also. And this car have a automatic gearbox with aluminium converter(on the right on movie) I check how it works. And for me, aluminium converter is working much slightly. So, I AM wondering, if the torque converter rebuild by machinist is good( or badly done). If it work very hard by hand, when I will put this torque converter to the gearbox, whether it does bot damage the gearbox?
