I made a lovely purchase on eBay the other day, that being of one of the original plastic wallets with some documentation

What was particularly fascinating was a card that had the prices of different Mercedes Benz’s depending on where the cars were distributed within the States, and also the price of certain accessories and what was standard (somewhat muted compared to modern cars!). The card is dated Feb 1966.

This got me wondering if any of our fine members may have a UK/European version of this, or indeed if anything similar was issued? Or indeed if anyone has an earlier variant that they would be willing to share?

Unfortunately, I can't help with an earlier version or a UK/European version, but I do have a later USA version of this document in my files.  Judging from the crease in the middle, I must have folded it to put it in a shirt pocket some 50 years ago!

This one is dated Oct 1970 and is for so called, "1971 registration  year vehicles."

Most of the money was on the coast.  Combine that with a culture that allowed you to show wealth but not too much. If you went past a Buick you were showing off.

It still is.
If you check where the largest markets for European luxury cars in the U.S. are, they are on the extreme ends of the continent.
Probably don't find many Porsches or Mercedes in Kansas or Nebraska.
