Pagoda in New Jersey
« on: July 31, 2021, 21:33:39 »
I saw this 280SL parked in front of a detailer/car wash in Waldwick, NJ. Looks freshly detailed and in very good shape cosmetically. Brown interior.

Light ivory with dark brown interior is a lovely combination.  This particular car must have a brown hardtop based on the color of the hubcaps.  Looks very well maintained.

Post some pix of your car.  728 is my FAVORITE w113 color.  It’s absolutely stunning!  I’m assuming it has a dark brown soft top.

I'd love to know if this is my old '69: bought 1971 with no HT and a blown engine, 60k.  Replaced engine with one from a 1971 280SL, sold 1973 with 80k.  Four spd w/AC, and I'd sourced a red hardtop from a wreck.  Sold to West German MB, saw it a few months later in the hands of a very proud owner who spoke of only 39k!  I'd love to have kept it, but a green 107 beckoned!  What did I know?

Yes, the car was very “clean”, in both sense of the word. Very sharp. The interior looked like brown MB-Tex, a little worn, although the headrests looked new.

I’ve had my car since 1994, second owner. I don’t have any interior pictures of my brown interior handy, but here are two exterior shots.
Thanks for the interest in my car.

She’s definitely a beauty!   Nice clean, impeccably maintained car.  Engine bay is very clean and authentic.

Beautiful car, Marc. The color is elegant. No headrests ???
My 250SL and I are close in NJ - Bernardsville.
Good luck.
