230 so door lock cylinder coil springs
« on: August 29, 2021, 12:18:18 »
Can anyone please point me in the direction of a supplier for the coil springs which push the door handle button outwards. Mine are badly rusted. Not listed on SLS.  Thanks

Gordon, can you post a picture of the spring you are looking for, and a scale so we can see the size?  Someone may have one as a spare.

Hi , the spring which pushes the button outwards is 21 mm overall width, 18 mm inside, 25 mm tall (not compressed) and made with coil wire diameter of 1.5 mm

Hi Gordon,

I assume these are the ones you mean, see below; they're more like 50 mm unstretched. They look a bit strange (like double helix) in the picture due to shadow. I have a couple I can donate to the cause; send me your address and I can mail them.

I don't think you'd find these for sale. More likely found from scavenging W110/W111 handles which use the same parts.

Meyer, I thank you for your kind offer. I took your advice and was able to salvage some from some old jaguar handles which I'd forgotten about.
Thanks and best wishes, Gordon
