INTERESTING TASK

Purchased the attached set of clamps (42) from Authentic Classics.  Now the fun begins!  While I am sure some will be easy to see where they go (some by matching existing clamps) others may not.

I would appreciate anyone's input or help as I begin this task.

That will be fun, but a very useful fan for a lot of us. Seen them all, have them all, but from memory, quickly:

For 113044 (for other models it may differ)
No. 2 A136 995 0037 (or A 001 988 10 78)
CLAMP MAIN CABLE HARNESS TO LEFT WHEEL ARCH PANEL, you need 1pc, for RHD 2pcs
CLAMP TANK FRONT BRACING, 1 pc
CLAMP IN TUNNEL, REAR FUEL AND BRAKE LINES TO FRAME FLOOR UNIT, 1pc

So you need 3, actually, as per the parts list.

I am missing A 136 995 0137 - slightly bigger than the No.2, black CLAMP MAIN CABLE HARNESS TO FRONT PANEL PILLAR

Hmm, I wonder why Authentic Classics sent you the clamp package without any identification markers.
They should be in individual baggies grouped together and labeled.
This is most odd.
Now you have to identify all of them.
Some go under the car to fasten the metal lines, others go onto the engine and others around the engine.

Exactly.

11 is the fuel line (e.g. near throttle, the line to CSv) and I think a couple of oil lines.
12 is I think for venting lines
7 and 8 - harness in various places (including under air cleaner), but I would have thought there should be 7 pieces of no. 7
1 is for fuel and brake lines

I think one of no. 4 is no. 2.

i know all of the remaining ones, just do not remember exactly where they go. One of 5 was holding the oil dipstick tube.

I bought all of them from MB. I promised myself to take the pictures with PNs, but I failed...

What i do not see, i think, is the one for holding wire for the trunk lid switch.

i am sure someone is already working on that to be first to come back with solution!

Think I found one: I think #10 are clips for the rubber sub-frame covers ( on 230sl only)

I looked through what I have in spare clamps box with part numbers. Not a lot. Enclosed.

It is not a silly ask. Everybody would appreciate a "Clamp Guide".

A lot of these clamps went through my hands with part numbers - I should have taken pictures of all of them. You have a part number - you have location. If you have a prt number with picture - you have it all.

same with grommets and plugs.
