Highlights from Classic Mercedes Issue 36
« on: September 13, 2021, 14:56:03 »
(Oh, boy, will Dan Caron be inflamed with this...)

In the current issue of Classic Mercedes magazine, some interesting bits.

1. There's a brief sidebar on the Classic News pages, about the name change for the newly renamed Bracq Heritage, and how they are creating a Pagoda 2+2. I think someone here posted information or a photo of the body shell being used for that...

2. On the Classic Auction pages, there's a bit about June's The London Classic Car Show Sale. There was a RHD 1965 Pagoda once owned by Britt Ekland that sold. Elsewhere in the magazine they indicate that a few with reserves were unsold, and they comment that Britt Ekland's celebrity wasn't enough to move the needle on value.

3. Our esteemed Pagoda Notes and Pagoda World editor, JonnyB, has a letter published, with a shameless plug for Pagoda Notes. Go, JonnyB! Part of the letter was about a prior shameless plug for sl113.org. Go us!

4. Some of our often mentioned vendor/suppliers and frequent sponsors to club events have nice advertisements. That's a given, but you will see ads for Authentic Classics, Metric Motors, Madera Concepts...all on the same page! For our UK friends and members, there's the "usual gang of suspects" for all manner of MB (or as they like to say, Merc) work.

5. In an article titled "All The Classics", yes, in complete defiance of the word classic the W113 appears...along with about every other postwar model...with brief summary.

In days gone by I'd offer that it's worth a trip to your friendly newsstand to buy a copy of Classic Mercedes, but at least here in the USA, newsstands have all but disappeared. So short of a subscription I don't know where you go.

(PS. Use of the word Classic and classic is verbatim from the magazine, not my interpretation.)
